I've been having the same problem, and I tried praying for what you asked God to show you. I'm not sure, but I think it may have worked. I've often had times where I feel genuinely alone and lonely. I've also had trouble turning to God because I don't think He's there. He's not visible. The Spirit is there, but I'm not fully feeling or perceiving the physical during those times. I've been told He IS real, that He IS physical, we just need to work harder to notice Him as He's really hard to see, cause of the sun.
