Holy
Holiness is being truly set apart for something sacred. This describes Jesus so well. And not only does it describe Him, but He is calling me to be set apart completely for His purpose. That is so awesome!! I have been reading Philippians 3 where Paul says,
“7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,9 And be found in him,“.
I have been focusing on this and when he says the word “suffered”, he is not just saying, “yeah it tough”…’suffering’ is a pretty harsh word, but its really true. If I have spent my whole life trying to please man and doing my own thing and not living for God, then when I finally am ready to give those things over and put Christ first it will be very painful. I think about the places I used to go on a Saturday night and to be really honest these days I am just totally content spending Saturday night talking to Jesus and hanging out with Him. He never gets old, it just gets better and better with Him. But you know what its tough because my relationships with people have changed indeed. Like my pop for example. We used to be on the same page with everything, including what we thought the purpose of life was, which had nothing to do with God. Now he knows my view has totally changed and although we love each other very much there is this huge gap between us that is very noticeable.
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake”(Luke 21). It’s inevitable. If I am going to really be sold out to Him I am going to be hated by the world. But I would rather be kept in Him. And you know what else souls are perishing and people really need to hear the Truth.
