New Hospital
Tuesday, June 13th, 2006There is a new children’s hospital being built right now. It feels like it has been sort of an underground thing because it is not right in the middle of Austin as the old children’s hospital is. The current children’s hospital is at the edge of downtown near the UT campus and is actually attached to Brackenridge, which is known as the poor hospital of Austin. I have been keeping up with the site for the new children’s hospital. It is pretty phenomenol. It will offer alot more for children and their families than the current hospital does(alot more beds, ER exam rooms, clinical labs, and rehab programs).
They are calling this hospital a “green building”(Nat, you would love this seeing that you are studying sustained development) because apparently “SETON’s goal is to maintain the health of our planet and children by using healthy building practices. The new children’s facility will be a leader in environmentally sound building practices.”
I remember seeing this really old ER episode from the early 90’s where this guy came in and was asking the doctors all these questions because he was dreaming up the perfect hospital in terms of safety and efficiency. All the doctors thought this guy was nuts. But it is interesting that the building is actually being built now. I am interceding for the Light of Jesus to be in that hospital. The Lord is going to place some God-fearing men and women to work there and precious children and their families are going to come to get cared for and leave with the hope of eternal life with Jesus. Doctors and nurses aren’t just going to be obstetricians for human babies but also for souls. This is going to happen and not just here but all over the world, and the enemy won’t be able to stop Him. Halelujah!
Well here it is:
